Job Summary

Produces high‑quality decorated items and baked goods according to the company’s standard product offerings. Decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items. Assists in the daily operations of the bakery department. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to increase customer confidence and loyalty.
  • Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at‑shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value.
  • Offers product samples, answers product questions and assists customers in finding or suggesting products.
  • Maintains an efficient and organized method of receiving and processing customer orders.
  • Decorates merchandise per customer request ensuring satisfaction with all products using decoration kits and freehand decorating skills.
  • Completes daily and weekly production tasks, processes/bakes merchandise according to production guidelines and proofs products to ensure quality assurance.
  • Review product quality for “sell by” dates and takes necessary action. Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
  • Receives and unloads delivery truck and stores products in designated area. Stocks and rotates department products to ensure freshness and date control; restocks and uses supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost.
  • Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job‑specific information.
  • Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
  • Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Operates bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines.
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department. Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain the same within 180 days of placement.
Language Requirements

English, Spanish

Relevant Experience

0–3 years minimum supervisory experience.

  • High standard of integrity and reliability.
  • Ability to distinguish color and contrast.
