Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable (AP). This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who can handle high-volume processing, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely payment cycles.

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and entry into the accounting system.
• Manage weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain AP files, purchase orders, and payment documentation.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Support the accounting team with data entry, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance as needed.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to ensure smooth AP operations.
• Assist with audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules.

• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting support.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice management, and basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
