Job Summary: A full-service CPA firm is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join its in-person team. The firm is committed to excellence, integrity, and high-quality client service. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a CPA firm and be skilled in accounting, tax preparation, and audit support. This role requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle increased workloads during tax season and other deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare client financial statements
• Maintain balance sheets and subsidiary ledgers
• Prepare journal entries
• Maintain fixed asset schedules
• Perform data entry as needed
• File monthly sales tax reports
• Prepare payroll for clients (live payroll)
• Prepare 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms
• Assist with tax return preparation and related documentation
• Monitor and control e-filed tax returns
• Communicate with the IRS as needed
• Assist with workers’ compensation audits
• Assist with financial audit procedures
• Provide remote accounting support for designated clients
• Support partners with special projects

• Pay: $70,000 - $85,000

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a CPA firm (accounting/tax preparation)
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or Xero
• Auditing experience required
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Experience with Creative Solutions (Accounting CS, Ultra Tax) is a plus
• Must pass credit and full background checks
• Ability to work additional hours during tax season (required)
