Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounts Receivable Specialist position with a social services organization in Miami, Florida. This role will focus on reviewing and reconciling accounts, collecting outstanding payments, and supporting the team as they work to resolve overdue balances.

This is a 2–4+ month contract with the potential to convert to a permanent role, paying $25–$35/hour depending on experience. The position is fully remote but requires candidates to be based in the EST time zone.

Responsibilities
  • Review aging A/R reports and identify overdue balances for follow-up.
  • Contact clients, insurance providers, and funding agencies to resolve outstanding payments.
  • Research billing discrepancies and issue rebills as necessary.
  • Update and track collection activities in Arize/Etactics.
  • Communicate with professionalism and compassion regarding account status and payment options.
  • Partner with program and administrative teams to resolve billing issues and maintain accurate client records.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to streamline collections and documentation practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure full HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable; healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Medicaid experience required.
  • Proficiency with billing systems or EHR software;
    Arize/Etactics experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims, reimbursements, and client invoicing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while consistently meeting deadlines.
