Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the company's day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working directly in the details while also providing leadership and oversight to the accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll and cash management
• Manage and execute the monthly and year-end close process
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and GAAP
• Manage the annual audit and tax preparation process

• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
• Analyze financial results and provide insight into variances and trends
• Oversee and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Work closely with company leadership on financial reporting and accounting matters
• Supervise and provide guidance to staff
• Handle special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and take ownership of the accounting function
