We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the finance team of an established, chemical manufacturing and water-treatment company in Miami.
This is a high-impact opportunity for an accounting professional with strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work across a complex, multi-entity organization. The role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and a defined opportunity to develop toward a future Controller position.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial statements.
- Oversee accounting activities across legal entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and established internal controls.
- Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and other operational teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial visibility.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with finance leadership on ongoing business and accounting priorities.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant financial close and general ledger responsibility.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Experience managing accounting across multiple entities, business units, or locations.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems;
Acumatica is a plus. - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with both finance and operational leadership.
- Manufacturing, chemical production, distribution, transportation, or other multi-location industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
$130K-$160K base salary dependent on experience
