JOB DESCRIPTION

Nopetro Energy is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services essential to our renewable energy operations. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely purchasing that supports business goals and sustainability standards.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Procurement Management:
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Vendor Management:
    Complete vendor set up with supporting documentation. Coordinate with Accounts Payable.
  • Source renewable energy-related materials (e.g., CNG/LNG components, fueling station parts) while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Negotiate pricing, standardized terms, and contracts to secure favorable agreements.
  • Review and approve purchase orders in accordance with internal controls and budget requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecasts, and lead times to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities.
  • Track procurement metrics, analyze cost‑saving opportunities, and provide reports to leadership.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Plan, organize, and lead procurement‑driven capital projects, including timelines, deliverables, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project goals.
  • Track project progress and adjust plans to ensure milestones are met.
  • Lead RFP and bidding processes for equipment and service providers.
Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization:
  • Oversee material inventory levels, forecasts, and logistics to ensure adequate stock for current and future needs. Ensure proper full and sample physical counts are performed, and work with Operations and Accounting on discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations staff for timely delivery and material handling.
  • Create a Dashboard for Procurement KPIs and maintain accurate records of procurement, contracts, inventory, and supplier performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, internal departments, and leadership for all procurement‑related project matters.
  • Support the development of sustainability and cost‑saving initiatives in sourcing strategies.
  • Represent the company in supplier and partner meetings, industry conferences, and negotiations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Ability to influence and ensure compliance with purchasing policies. Procurement is currently decentralized, but will be centralized in the future.
  • Build a Procurement Team and ensure framework for optimized procurement is established and followed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and develop training plans.
  • Establish purchasing thresholds and approval protocols.
  • Work with IT and Accounting and ensure controls are solid for the procurement and receiving processes and maintain segregation of duties.
REQUIRED SKILLS &

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the energy, construction, or industrial sector.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage procurement budgets and cost controls.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems or infrastructure (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Net Suite, or similar).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of state and federal procurement regulations relevant to energy companies.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
