Data Center Logistics Lead – Miami, FL (Equinix)

Responsibilities- Supports the team with managing stock distribution and oversees the safety of the team and adherence to policies and guidelines.
- Controls stock inventory and oversees the accuracy of documentation, using a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
- Works with internal/external customers and other departments to ensure deliveries are made in a timely manner.
- Makes recommendations for new procedures.
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Ensures accuracy of supporting documentation.
- Uses spreadsheet(s) or system tools to maintain accurate records, handling complex queries independently in creative and effective ways.
- Ensures entry of goods, database and order requirements are completed accurately.
- Leads periodic stock checks to ensure accuracy and proactively makes adjustments.
- Receives goods delivered to the data center directly or following acceptance by security.
- Leads daily warehouse duties, satisfying internal customers’ requirements, ensuring accuracy of complex shipments.
- Oversees item dispatch and coordinates speedy and efficient delivery of goods to the required destination; obtains sign‑off for receipt.
- Manages shipment spotlight and shipment dashboard for customers inbound/outbound shipments.
- Leads the logistics coordination team, performing hands‑on day‑to‑day activities.
- Proactively works and communicates with internal/external customers to ensure on‑time deliveries.
- Develops new procedures and techniques for faster and more efficient processes that support the overall team.
- Manages relationships with suppliers, OEMs, and internal customers on stock and projected delivery times for special orders.
- Acts as a team lead to support the overall team.
- Supports the team in resolving complex problems.
- Allocates stock inventory to internal customers, scheduling materials to be moved to and from data centers.
- Oversees inventory transfers with related departments.
- Maintains and monitors minimum/maximum stock for projects & operations teams.
- Leads monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, inputting data into a Warehouse Management System (WMS) software and Equinix database.
- Picks and correlates items ordered and stores them in the relevant data center bins for the customers for highly complex orders.
- Informs recipients of any shortfall in quantities and backorder times.
- Supports the team on proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Maintains material safety data sheets.
- Partners with external vendors as needed to ensure proper delivery, handling and complex storage of hazardous materials.
- Ensures compliance with hazardous materials protocols as described by regional regulatory bodies.
- Tracks stored customer shipments and manages abandoned equipment and maintains inventory of equipment.
- Uses aging shipment business processes/tools for shipments over 5 days, 14 days, 30 days and 90 days.
- Liaises with the Customer Service Associate (CSA) team on these issues and determines policies for future solutioning.
- Oversees tracking “in use” or “highly available” software licenses.
- Manages software licensing and consults on licensing matters.
- Resolves complex renewal issues for software licensing and provides advice to more junior team members.
- Efficiently manages and keeps work areas/stores free of hazards per the company’s environmental, health and safety policy, reporting any potential hazards to the manager and customer operations as they arise.
- Minimum education:
High School / GED; typically requires a high school diploma and 6+ years of equivalent work experience. - Regional hazardous materials certification preferred.
Targeted Pay Range: $61,200 – $91,800 USD per year (United States – Miami, FL). The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new‑hire pay and may be updated periodically. Base pay only; bonus, equity and benefits may also be part of the compensation.
