Position: Construction Senior Site Operations Manager/Superintendent (Ground up)

Overview

Construction Senior Site Operations Manager/Superintendent (Ground up) at T&G Constructors. The role oversees one or more company job sites and multiple Site Operations Managers, coordinating all field activities for projects, including safety, subcontractors, in-house manpower, equipment, product and materials. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts Team Readiness Analysis.
  • Conducts Jobsite Hazard Analysis before each job is started.
  • Monitors all Site Operations activities.
  • Supervises and manages a project staff that could include site operations managers, project engineers, assistant site operations managers, foremen, and in-house labor.
  • Assists in leading foreman and craft employees assigned to a project when necessary.
  • Acts as liaison between project management, field engineering, estimating, and sub-contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications and company quality standards.
  • Keeps senior management informed of jobsite activities.
  • Facilitates discovery and correction of contract document errors/omissions and helps problem solve.
  • Reviews contract documents and requirements; alerts project management to design conflicts, RFIs, and potential change orders.
  • Assists with planning the sequencing of work and determines manpower levels, material quantities and equipment requirements.
  • Assists with productivity issues and monitors performance to ensure project plans and schedules are followed and the project is executed effectively.
  • Assists with compliance with internal and external record keeping requirements, including accurate hours worked and proper coding on time cards.
  • Reviews Site Managers’ daily duties and provides insight as needed.
  • Advises senior management of potential problems and assists in resolving conflicts; provides guidance to craft employees.
  • Maintains liaison with project manager and other departments to support construction schedule and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Oversees all jobsite safety issues, ensures adherence to safety programs, maintains OSHA records, and conducts safety walkthroughs and training as needed.
  • Maintains documentation of training, inspections, injuries and illnesses, and participates in accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Continuously expands professional knowledge and training to enhance team innovation and productivity.
  • Reviews RFPs, specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and schedule in the preconstruction phase.
  • Ensures Site Managers process required weekly project paperwork and daily logs.
  • Willingness to travel for extensive periods, as required.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • Ability to lead and evaluate craft performance; advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and related documents.
  • Strong understanding of specs and plan reading; proficient with computer scheduling programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation to work sites; ability to satisfy badging and background checks.
  • Available for all shifts for potential emergency responses.
  • Must own and maintain a laptop.
