Job Description & How to Apply Below

Match Built is an executive search firm partnering with a growing regional home builder seeking a Project Manager for its Northeast Florida operations, reporting to the Director of Construction. The role is based in the Amelia Island area: you work from a home office and are on site daily where the homes are being built.

The Project Manager owns assigned vertical construction projects from preconstruction handoff through closeout and early warranty: schedule, field execution, trade sequencing, workmanship, inspections, safety, documentation, and the homebuyer experience. The homes are luxury residences in the $1M+ range, in communities clustered closely together.

You need a strong background in residential field construction. Only candidates with homebuilding experience will be considered. This is a field role, and you’ll be on site daily across your assigned communities.

You join a growing division with a real path to broader responsibility as it expands.

At a Glance Job Highlights
  • Own Your Projects: Day-to-day ownership of your assigned homes and communities, from start through closing and turnover.
  • Schedule Truth: Build and maintain the schedules every trade works from: baselines, weekly look-aheads, and recovery plans that keep cycle time on target.
  • Trade Leadership: Direct daily trade sequencing, deliveries, and even-flow progress home to home across your communities.
  • Homebuyer Contact: Serve as the primary construction contact for your buyers, with dependable weekly updates.
  • Quality and Safety: Hold the line on workmanship, inspections, and a safe, clean, organized jobsite.
What You'll Lead
  • Participate in preconstruction reviews and accept formal project handoffs, confirming plans, permits, site conditions, budget status, long-lead items, and open risks before mobilization.
  • Build and maintain baseline schedules and rolling look-aheads in the construction management platform, refreshing them to reflect actual progress, deliveries, inspections, and constraints.
  • Direct daily trade sequencing and jobsite logistics, including access, staging, deliveries, storage, temporary facilities, and site cleanliness.
  • Verify installed work against plans, specifications, and product approvals; use pre-installation reviews and hold points before work is concealed, and document critical conditions with photos.
  • Schedule jurisdictional inspections, maintain permit documents on site, and drive prompt correction and reinspection when needed.
  • Enforce jobsite safety and stormwater controls; stop unsafe work immediately and document incidents, damage, and near misses.
  • Provide Purchasing with accurate percent-complete verification and cost-to-complete input, and review project bills for work performed before recommending acceptance.
  • Identify changes and unforeseen conditions early, documenting scope, photos, and schedule impact, and obtain approval before added work proceeds.
  • Communicate with home buyers at least weekly, lead site walks at key milestones, and document decisions and follow-ups in the project record.
  • Complete an accurate daily log for every active job covering manpower, work performed, deliveries, inspections, weather, delays, and decisions needed.
  • Drive rolling punch, final inspections, and closeout documentation through homebuyer orientation, turnover, and early warranty.
What You Bring Project Manager Qualifications
  • 5+ years of residential construction experience, including field leadership of single-family homes as a Project Manager, superintendent, or builder.
  • Demonstrated ability to run multiple homes or phases at once while holding schedule, quality, and budget discipline.
  • Working knowledge of the Florida Building Code, local inspection processes, and coastal construction requirements.
  • Experience coordinating trades, deliveries, and inspections across several homes at different stages.
  • Proficiency with construction management software;
    Buildertrend experience is a plus.
  • Strong, professional communication skills with home buyers, trade partners, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
  • Reliable field presence, sound judgment, and a no-surprises communication style.
The Benefits
  • Competitive salary plus bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Supportive, team-oriented culture within a privately held organization
