The Client
Our client is a boutique real estate development firm based in Miami Beach with over 30 years’ history in South Florida. They have helped transform several of Miami’s best-known shopping, dining and mixed-use districts and have a strong track record repositioning high-street retail, Class A office and mixed-use assets. With an active capital projects pipeline, they are now bringing a Construction Manager in-house to lead delivery on the owner’s side.
The ProjectsThe owned portfolio comprises around 20 commercial properties across South Florida, from roughly 3,000 to 70,000 sq ft. Work is primarily value-add renovation and conversion:
- Converting warehouse and industrial buildings to retail
- Renovating and repositioning existing retail
- Expanding sites for new tenants and uses
- Tenant improvements and building upgrades
Occasional ground-up development is possible but not the focus. Several live projects will be handed over on arrival, with more in the pipeline.
The RoleRepresenting the owner, you’ll lead capital projects from early design through completion and tenant handover, reporting to senior leadership and working closely with the leasing and development teams. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in general contracting, development or owner’s representation
- Proven delivery of renovation, conversion or retail projects, ideally in South Florida
- Working knowledge of South Florida permitting and building codes
- Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once
- Organised, commercially minded and comfortable in a lean team
- Base salary up to $170,000 DOE, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate
- An owner’s-side role with a respected, long-established South Florida firm
- An existing pipeline of retail renovation, conversion and expansion projects
- Direct access to senior leadership and real influence over project delivery
- Work that shapes well-known retail destinations across Miami
