Professional Dance Educator - Volunteer

We are growing! Fred Astaire Dance Studios® is excited to add to our team of professional dance volunteers. Whether you have years of dance and/or dance instructor experience or none at all, you could have a successful future with us! As a high‑energy dancing volunteer, you will conduct group dance classes throughout the week at under‑privileged schools, helping students reach their personal dance goals through many different ways – from a single event to a lifelong journey of dance growth. You will have the unique honor to enhance children’s lives every day and work closely with people from all walks of life, giving you personal enrichment beyond any other environment.

Venues and schedule:
Childrens’ classes are on‑site at the Miami Dade Public Schools after school from 4‑5 pm. Volunteers are required to provide at least two days a week for one hour.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct group dance classes at scheduled times and locations.
  • Assist students in achieving their personal dance goals, adapting instruction to varied skill levels.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Participate in studio hours, events, and occasional weekday evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Commit to the volunteer schedule (minimum 2 days per week, 1 hour each).
  • Complete all required Miami‑Dade volunteer procedures for working with children.
Qualifications
  • Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and 100% passionate about dance.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Understanding of what it takes to be successful and willingness to commit.
  • Accountable and reliable.
  • Unselfish team player who accepts coaching and feedback.
  • Positive outlook – cup always half full.
  • Exceptional physical fitness and endurance to perform this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with students of all ages.
  • Ability and willingness to pass Miami‑Dade Volunteer procedures.
