Job Description

The Producer for Noticias Telemundo AHORA will play a central role in launching and shaping our new talk show debuting next year. This position demands a strong editorial instinct, the ability to drive daily content decisions, and the discipline to uphold Noticias Telemundo’s journalistic standards. The producer is responsible for identifying compelling topics, developing segment ideas, building rundowns that serve a live conversation-driven format, and guiding the team through execution across streaming and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate combines traditional news judgment with a sharp understanding of how to craft smart, fast, and engaging talk-show content for Latino audiences in the U.S. This person must excel under pressure, collaborate across departments, and lead with clarity in the control room and during pre-production.

Please note that this is a PEP assignment role with a fixed duration of one (1) year.

Responsibilities
  • Identify timely, newsworthy, and conversation-driving topics aligned with the AHORA editorial mission.
  • Conceptualize and produce rundowns specifically tailored for a live talk-show format, including guest interviews, panel segments, explainers, and recurring franchise elements.
  • Participate actively in editorial meetings and long-term planning for the show.
  • Write scripts, questions, banners, teases, and other on-air elements with precision and editorial rigor.
  • Request, brief, and oversee news and creative graphics that support segment storytelling.
  • Line-produce live shows for linear and streaming, both in traditional control room and Tricaster environments.
  • Anticipate editorial and production needs, coordinating video, graphics, research, guest elements, and other show components.
  • Lead the show during breaking news moments and adapt rundowns quickly and cleanly.
  • Collaborate closely with assignment editors, reporters, digital teams, production crews, and booking teams.
  • Research topics and guests thoroughly to support interviews and discussions.
  • Guide anchors, contributors, producers, and technical staff throughout the production process.
  • Demonstrate strong news gathering instincts and familiarity with social platforms as real-time information sources.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Spanish-language newsroom and at least 2 years producing or building rundowns for a live show (broadcast, cable, or digital).
  • On-site position requiring availability from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
  • Proven ability to produce live talk-driven or interview-based content preferred.
  • Proficiency in iNews, VIZ, Media Central.
  • Demonstrated success operating in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
  • Ability to write clean, sharp copy and support video editing for live digital broadcasts.
  • Full fluency in English and Spanish, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays as needed.
