Position SummaryThe Frost Museum of Science is seeking a part‑time Greeter/Guest Ambassador to provide a welcoming environment for all guests and members. The Guest Ambassador will greet and assist guests with ways to move around the museum, provide exhibit and ticket information, monitor access points throughout the museum, and support the 365‑day operation. The role is crucial in embodying the first and last impression of the museum, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring safety standards.
AvailabilityRequirements
Must be available a minimum of 3 days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., including one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). Availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays is required.
CompensationBase pay: $15.00 per hour.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Attend and participate in daily shift meetings.
- Actively engage guests and share knowledge about exhibits and planetarium shows to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Assist guests with information and direction during emergencies or evacuations.
- Understand and adhere to department policies regarding appearance, floor etiquette and overall safety.
- Follow all open‑water and animal safety training procedures.
- Use customer‑service training to identify guest issues and determine best action for recovery.
- Represent the museum with upmost integrity, exemplifying values and sharing mission daily.
- Identify and communicate areas for improvement to managers to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Enforce company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma (minimum). Higher education preferred.
- Customer service experience in a high‑volume environment.
- Friendly, strong interpersonal skills to engage guests tactfully.
- Respect and embrace multicultural differences among staff and guests.
- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast‑paced environment.
- Fluency in multiple languages is desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Team player capable of working under minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to perform additional tasks as needed.
Employees frequently sit, talk, and hear. Daily tasks involve walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Must stand for long periods and move quickly to assist guests. Must work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to sun, rain, heat, and wind.
