Position Overview

The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings and may teach courses in various modalities, including MDC In-Person, MDC Live (virtual learning), MDC Online, and blended classes.

  • Prepares course schedule
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Prepares exams
  • Prepares syllabus
  • Monitors class roster
  • Maintains schedule that allows for student meetings
  • Schedules laboratory sessions for skills component of course
  • Teaches in lecture and laboratory settings, and in blended and virtual environments
  • Disseminates information and recruits students for service‑learning initiatives
  • Assesses student performance in the clinical setting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Master’s degree in any field and Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene; and Valid State of Florida Dental Hygiene licensure; and 3 years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in field, or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene; or Bachelor’s degree in any field and Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program; and Valid State of Florida Dental Hygiene licensure;

    and three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work in a multi‑ethnic/multi‑cultural environment
