Position OverviewThe Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings and may teach courses in various modalities, including MDC In-Person, MDC Live (virtual learning), MDC Online, and blended classes.
What you will be doing- Prepares course schedule
- Evaluates and advises students
- Prepares exams
- Prepares syllabus
- Monitors class roster
- Maintains schedule that allows for student meetings
- Schedules laboratory sessions for skills component of course
- Teaches in lecture and laboratory settings, and in blended and virtual environments
- Disseminates information and recruits students for service‑learning initiatives
- Assesses student performance in the clinical setting
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in any field and Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene; and Valid State of Florida Dental Hygiene licensure; and 3 years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in field, or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene; or Bachelor’s degree in any field and Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program; and Valid State of Florida Dental Hygiene licensure;
and three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience - All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work in a multi‑ethnic/multi‑cultural environment
