Are you ready to make a lasting impact on Miami’s built environment? Stantec’s Miami office is looking for a passionate Senior Project Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with local and regional leaders to design innovative projects that enrich the communities we serve.

Assignments will range from concurrent responsibility for multiple small- to mid-size projects of varying complexity, to several projects of larger scope and importance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing inter-disciplinary teams including designers, architects, engineers, and other building related professionals.
  • Effectively participate and help to win work in interviews for potential projects.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.
  • Lead the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
  • Mentor and motivate project team members.
  • Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
  • Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Advocate and inspire creativity, critical thought and design excellence both internally and externally.
  • Support Business Development activities, including marketing proposals, interview, conference attendance, etc.
  • Foster collaboration between offices while promoting and providing design vision.
  • Evaluate the quality of design and design activities and assure a high level of design quality throughout the firm.
  • Participate in production of design award submissions.

  • Hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
  • Participate in project team setting.
  • Lead several teams on large complex projects through the development of design concept.
  • Receive criticism and respond appropriately and professionally.
  • Inspire confidence and garner trust and respect with the project team and with clients.
  • Provide a balanced approach and good judgement.
  • Check work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage team to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Scale process, design and effort to various roles on the project, the needs of the project, and other conditions.
  • Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material. Strong presentation and interview skills.
  • Understanding of historical values and context.
  • Present abstract ideas to the client and client representatives.
  • Exhibit maturity and cultural awareness internally and externally.
  • General knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Require understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch

    UP, Newforma, Sefaira, recent modeling software;
    Prefer experience with 3D printer, laser cutter.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field & Registered Architect (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
