Design Manager of Global Applications – Meltwater

Join us to lead and innovate across Meltwater’s global application ecosystem, driving intuitive use and industry‑leading outcomes.

As the Design Manager of Global Applications, you will be responsible for managing our key Meltwater design system and AI‑driven platform experiences, working closely with designers and developers to deliver best‑in‑class interaction design, visual design, and new AI products. You will play a player/coach role, guiding a direct report.

• Execute and design strong user interfaces, prototypes, wireframes, and visual designs using the latest GenAI tools (e.g., Lovable, v0, Cursor) and Figma for pixel‑perfect results.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: engage with designers and developers to align on requirements and system documentation, and work with the UX research team to identify pain points and opportunities.
• User‑centered advocacy: champion user‑centered design principles in all projects.
• Process guidance: help align design efforts with business objectives, execute UX priorities, and facilitate a robust design process.
• Mentorship & leadership: oversee the work of one product designer, ensuring high standards in interaction design, UI, and human‑centered design, and building new platform‑consistent patterns.
• Partnership development: collaborate with product managers and UX Directors to foster strong design ethics and outcomes.
• Facilitation of innovation: lead ideation, feasibility assessments, and story‑mapping workshops to enhance design and development processes.
• Communication: be a strong storyteller to cross‑functional leaders, developers, and stakeholders, promoting a holistic view of experience.
• Design quality assurance: conduct UI reviews of design patterns through product‑based evaluations and system‑wide assessments.
• Culture building: contribute to design culture while continuously helping the practice grow.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Design, Visual UI Design, UI/UX.
• At least 3‑5 years managing a design team.
• 3‑5 years working in SaaS and enterprise applications.
• Proven portfolio showcasing extensive UX/UI work and experience with AI tools such as Lovable, v0, or Cursor.
• Strong understanding of industry best practices and design principles.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver products focused on final outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas to business stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to refine and develop UX.
• Expert proficiency in Figma.
• Strong understanding of the Design Thinking process stages.
• Experience collaborating with other designers for system‑wide improvements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design or related field.
• Familiarity with front‑end technologies such as React and MUI.

Base Salary of $140,000 – $160,000 USD per year + 10% annual bonus paid in quarterly instalments (subject to the terms of the applicable commission plan).
