Description
Outstanding opportunity for a pediatric and congenital heart surgeon at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida. The Heart Institute is seeking a board‑certified thoracic and congenital cardiac surgeon to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a track record of technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills. Candidates with several years of independent operative experience are preferred to divide cases between two surgeons.
Annual surgical volume is approximately 350 cases.
The Heart Institute at Nicklaus is the largest pediatric cardiac center in South Florida. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is an affiliate of the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Academic Affiliation
Employed staff benefit from affiliations with Florida International University (FIU). This position includes an appointment to the Faculty of FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Qualifications
- Board certified in thoracic and congenital cardiac surgery.
- Independent operative experience with several years of a complex pediatric cardiac volume.
- Strong technical excellence and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to divide cases between two surgeons at the Institute’s 350‑case annual volume.
