The OpportunityAn established Psychiatry Residency Program in Gainesville, Florida, in collaboration with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join its growing academic faculty team. This faculty role offers the opportunity to teach, supervise residents, and practice psychiatry in a collaborative and academically enriched environment.
Program & Practice DetailsThe residency program is fully accredited and supports 32 residents. Faculty appointment is available through the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
The Department of Psychiatry includes:- A 33-bed inpatient unit
- Consultation-liaison service
- PHP / IOP clinic and ECT service
The Behavioral Health Center provides inpatient treatment for adults 18+ experiencing acute illnesses requiring 24‑hour care. It is a certified Baker Act receiving facility accepting both voluntary and direct admissions.
The role includes inpatient consults and IOP care. Residents are in-house 24/7 for consults, admissions, and emergencies. Call responsibilities: 1:5 rotation. Supervise 3–4 residents and participate in didactic instruction.
Requirements:
Board eligible or board certified in psychiatry. New graduates with a passion for teaching are welcome.
