Shift Details: 12 urgent care shifts per month, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (may cover shifts based on preference/need at our multiple urgent care sites all within Miami‑Dade County).

We are experienced revival diagnosing and treating a variety of everyday illnesses including fever, sore throat, respiratory infections, flu and minor injuries such as sprains and broken bones.mnu. If you need any tests or X‑rays, we can take care of them on site during your visit.

Summary

Clinical Duties:
Perform medical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of patients requiring the medical services of an Urgent Care Physician. Obtain health history and perform physical examinations. Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to collect information on patient condition as needed. Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment. Perform minor office‑based procedures to remove, repair, or improve function of diseased or injured body parts and systems.

Prescribe pharmaceutical, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions, in compliance with Florida Statute and professional practice guidelines. Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient‑care components as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Communicate with patients and family, when necessary, in the decision‑making process about treatment. Maintain current standards of acceptable medical practice.
  • Perform all credentialed medical procedures according to professional standards. Participate in staff outreach and off‑site health care programs as directed by the TRUST.
  • Participate in educational programs specific to patient care. Complete medical records in accordance with TRUST Policies and Procedures, which includes documenting the appropriate level of care. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality‑improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control.

  • Assist Medical Director in providing clinical leadership for the UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Centers. Assist Medical Director in developing best‑practice guidelines and protocols for the UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Centers.
  • Mentor and develop the clinical staff. Assist, implement and achieve the medical goals and objectives for the clinic/center of responsibility. Ensure that all medical services meet or exceed standards required by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals and State of Florida Licensure requirements.
  • Direct activities in the area(s) assigned. Monitor and evaluate present and future needs for medical/diagnostic services in the clinic/center of responsibility. Promote communication via scheduled meetings with administrative staff and medical care providers. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality‑improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Experience

Generally requires three (3) to five (5) years of related experience.

Education

MD or DO from an accredited program.

Residency

Family Medicine preferred.

Credentials
  • Florida Clear/Active Medical License
  • DEA Licensure
  • Board Certified or Eligible — FM
  • Active BLS / ACLS through the American Heart Association
