Medical Student Tutor (Per-Diem) - Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University.
Job Summary:
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is seeking a Medical Student Tutor (Per-Diem) to join our team of professionals.
- Provides supplemental instruction (tutoring) in various modalities such as 1-to-1 and small groups.
- Assist with ACES course review or assist the ACES team with tasks as needed for continued improvement of the program.
- Discusses learning, test-taking and study strategies while assisting with course work assignments and questions.
- Completes session documentation at the completion of each supplemental instruction session.
- Assists students with composing study guides.
- Facilitates review sessions during midterms, finals, or other exams and/or as needed based on student needs.
- Maintains familiarity with all existing ACES (Academic and Enrichment Consultation Services) resources and refers students to resources as appropriate.
- Follows and upholds FIU academic honesty policies and procedures, FERPA policies and ACES procedures.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
- Knowledge of active learning and study strategies, test-taking strategies, and time-management techniques.
- A conferred medical school degree.
Per-Diem - 10-15 hours per week. The schedule varies.
SalaryAdvertised Salary: $20.00/hr
