9-12th Grade Math Instructor (Spring 2026)

FLSA: Part-time, Seasonal
Compensation: $40/hr
Position OverviewInstructors will join SEO’s community of passionate educators to implement a rigorous college‑prep curriculum for motivated high‑school students. Using our original curriculum and a student‑centered approach, instructors coach and facilitate learning, supporting scholars’ journeys toward competitive colleges and beyond.
The Courses- 9th Grade – Numbers and Operations (Spring)
- 10th Grade – Trigonometry (Summer)
- 10th Grade – Algebra / Pattern and Structure (Fall)
- 11th Grade – Precalculus (Summer)
- 11th Grade – SAT Math (Fall)
- Co‑teach 3–4 periods, including ELA and Advisory; cover when requested.
- Follow lesson plans and meet objectives, ensuring rigorous instruction and student engagement.
- Navigate instructional technologies such as Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, and Zoom.
- Prepare content in advance and adjust pacing based on student needs.
- Host tutoring sessions and provide asynchronous academic support.
- Attend meetings, professional development, and maintain communication with staff.
- Meet with the assigned instructional coach at least twice per semester for feedback.
- Maintain a positive classroom culture and energetic teaching presence.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Teaching certification or K–12 classroom experience, or college/university‑level teaching experience.
- Proficiency with learning technology systems.
- Experience with high‑school students and student‑centered pedagogy.
- Understanding of UDL and instructional technology (preferred).
- Expertise in advanced high‑school‑level mathematics.
- Secondary Education degree and certification.
- Knowledge and experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Instructional technology certifications or training.
Associate Instructors receive $40 per hour, averaging 10 hours per week. This position is benefits‑eligible in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
