Position OverviewThis Part-Time Instructor is responsible for teaching Life Sciences, Health and Wellness courses for the School of Business Department. Courses may be offered in several modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online, and Blended Classes.
In accordance with Rule 6A-14.064, F.A.C., College Credit Dual Enrollment Courses offered at secondary school locations, this position requires all candidates be employed by an authorized MDC Dual Enrollment secondary school partner. Candidates must meet Miami Dade College Faculty Credential Statement teaching qualifications, including SACSCOC’s Principles of Accreditation minimum criteria: A Master’s degree in the teaching discipline of the assigned course(s) or a Master’s degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline of the assigned course(s).

- Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education or Sports Science or equivalent; or Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the field.
- For HSC 2400, current certification (recertification required every two years) as an Instructor in First Aid validated by either the American Red Cross (ARC) or Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ESCI) and in Basic Life Support (BLS) validated by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with students.
- Work well with students, faculty, staff and the community.
- Work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
- Teach lecture and laboratory sections.
- Evaluate and advise students.
- Develop curricula.
- Recruit students.
- Serve on committees.
- Participate in departmental and college affairs.
