The STEM Institute is currently seeking a Temporary VOCES Project Research Assistant to join their team of professionals. Project VOCES (Voices for Organizing Change in Educational Systems) will transform institutional culture by embedding student voice and promoting student agency throughout a coherent collection of activities that directly impact students. Project VOCES amplifies student ownership by building on ongoing institutional change activities and establishing a program of STEM student leaders.

These STEM Voceros will be positioned as campus student leaders bringing the student perspective to the forefront and engaging university leadership to re-envision the established norms of power and decision-making at FIU.

• Conducting K12 STEM education research
• Assisting and co-facilitating in faculty professional development programming
• Assisting in co-developing professional development programming for students
• Assisting with program's communication activities

High school diploma with four (4) years of experience or two (2) years of post-secondary education with one (1) year of experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Temporary

As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. As a temporary employee, you are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g., dental, vision) which requires full payment on your part.
