Under the supervision of Initiatives and Scholarly Resources, the Library Information Systems Developer will assist in maintenance of the FIU Law Library's digital properties, and management of our institutional repository. The ideal candidate will be familiar with website maintenance and digitization best practices and have a functional knowledge of related applications such as image/photo editors and database management tools. Additionally, the LIS Developer should be flexible and willing to learn and adapt to new and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities- Implement information systems such as SharePoint and Lib Apps to enhance library services.
- Develop functional interfaces using front-end languages such JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React/Angular for library digital resources.
- Troubleshoot issues across library web platforms, repositories, and catalog systems.
- Ensure compatibility between front end platforms such as Lib Apps and Word Press.
- Maintain strict Quality Assurance processes for resource integrations.
- Code, debug, and deliver maintainable solutions for various library interfaces.
- Implement REST APIs and JSON to connect library systems.
- Manage library events calendar, digital maps, and faculty scholarship repositories.
- Administer backend systems for Digital Commons and similar platforms.
- Recommend improvements to streamline library technology.
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Studies, or other technical discipline and one (1) year of related experience; OR five (5) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
