Job Overview

The Part-time Information Specialist supports the Continuing Education and Professional Development department by answering public inquiries, providing accurate information on class schedules and fees, guiding students through registration and payment, and coordinating with department staff.

Responsibilities
  • Help students select appropriate sections from catalog of thousands of course offerings at five campus and additional outreach locations.
  • Provide accurate information from catalogs and department staff members.
  • Advise students on course requirements, books/materials, and testing prerequisites.
  • Guide students through registration and payment process.
  • Refer callers seeking more detailed information or advice to appropriate department coordinator.
  • Accept registration forms and fee payments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Six (6) months of customer service experience.
  • Good customer service skills and superior ability to learn program details.
  • Knowledge of class offerings and all departments within Continuing Education and Professional Development.
  • Working knowledge of College organization.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Positive image of the College and its programs.
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
Additional Requirements

The final candidate must successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
