Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments in accordance with established procedures and best practices.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students  progress and development; update records as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities; participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities and prepare classroom for class activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities and observe/evaluate student performance and development.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
  • As a Title I Teacher, deliver supplemental instruction through push-in/pull-out programs during the school day and/or after school.
  • Implement supplemental programs in reading, language arts, and mathematics according to Title I regulations and internal procedures.
  • Analyze assessment data to create individualized learning paths and activities; incorporate online lessons and devices as appropriate.
  • Provide pre- and post-assessment data, progress reports and supporting documentation to district, school leadership, parents and classroom teachers.
  • Establish strong parent involvement programs and collaborate with colleagues to create a strong school community.
  • Manage inventory of Title I resources.

Education

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science required (preferably in Education).
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience or equivalent; experience with English Language Learners preferred.

Competencies – Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Passion for education and student success; ability to engage parents and colleagues.
  • Basic knowledge of federal programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to monitor, track and evaluate data to assess program effectiveness.
  • Technically savvy with the ability to use technology to enhance instruction.
  • Strong prioritization and collaborative teamwork skills.
