Early Steps Community Provider Recruitment and Training Coordinator
University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Full‑Time Early Steps Community Provider Recruitment and Training Coordinator to work in Miami. The role develops and implements public education and outreach programs and serves as a liaison to the community.
Core Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
- Work with community‑based organizations to plan promotional educational events and increase community awareness.
- Assist with publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
- Interact effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
- Aid in the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
- Identify effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment in‑person and online outreach.
- Conduct brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
- Aid with compiling data for presentations.
- Develop professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
- Collaborate with other team members on special projects and events.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
- Proactively plan and manage recruitment for new Early Steps direct service providers, including attractive community campaigns.
- Develop and initiate the Early Steps Provider Recruitment and Retention Plan and report yearly results to Florida’s Early Steps State Office.
- Analyze zip code areas’ needs, gaps, and overflow for each provider category (ITDS, PT, OT, SPEECH, HEARING, etc.).
- Recruit new Early Steps providers (agents and individuals) to serve children in the most needed zip codes.
- Conduct preliminary on‑site visits for new agencies and assess provider qualifications, ensuring understanding of the Early Steps “natural environment” model and completion of Florida Early Steps professional development training.
- Ensure all provider education and experience meet Florida Early Steps policy requirements.
- Collect and review provider enrollment paperwork for managerial approval.
- Maintain provider information, documentation, and updates per policy and Medicaid requirements.
- Track recertification of Infant Toddler Development Specialists to meet state requirements.
- Support the professional development initiative by tracking, monitoring, and reporting provider fidelity, allowing the Lead Implementation Coach (LIC) and Provider Coach (PC) to provide coaching and technical assistance.
- Assist providers with FL‑EPIC fidelity to submit annual coaching videos for LIC or PC review.
- Maintain records related to provider eligibility for the FL‑EPIC fee and communicate eligibility status to providers and their agencies.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the Early Steps Service Delivery System preferred.
- Familiarity with the Dade County community and its providers (occupational, speech, & physical therapists) desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
