The Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education has an exciting per diem opportunity for a Paramedic Instructor 2 in Miami, FL. The instructor supports the mission of developing and disseminating leading edge educational programs utilizing advanced technology and simulation systems. The instructor ensures training compliance with applicable standards and regulations, monitors teaching and learning effectiveness, and promotes student learning and active participation.
Responsibilities- Provides didactic instruction and psychomotor skills training to a diverse population of learners.
- Administers written tests and skills performance evaluations of PETD course learners.
- Provides remedial tutoring of learners with identified deficiencies.
- Contributes to the development of objective criteria for skills performance evaluation.
- Participates in testing and analysis of educational tools utilized in PETD courses.
- Maintains current knowledge of the latest evidence for the subject matters taught.
- Assists with the compilation of educational research data.
- Evaluates and contributes to the revision, editing, and updating of PETD courses.
- Assists with the training and preparation of standardized patients (actors).
- Serves as course coordinator for on-site courses, managing time, overseeing instructors, and ensuring course goals are met.
- Assists with equipment and supply inventory maintenance.
- Participates in efforts to recruit qualified new adjunct and PETD instructors.
- Participates in presentations to a variety of community, political, and medical audiences.
- Promotes positive communications about the center and its programs.
- Adheres to University and unit policies, safeguarding University assets.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Paramedic License.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
