Location: UHealth Tower

Shift: Monday through Friday, 11:45 AM to 7:45 PM

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a UMH Teacher, Full Time - Infant Room
. The UMH Teacher (U) prepares lesson plans and instructs students in a classroom setting. Moreover, the incumbent evaluates and monitors students' performance.

CORE

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides a syllabus of course material before the start of the course.
• Takes daily attendance, and conducts follow up with absences to foster retention.
• Provides classroom instruction per hours agreed upon per schedule.
• Administers quizzes and tests the students on course materials.
• Provides weekly homework on course materials to evaluate course knowledge.
• Evaluates each student's performance using a written evaluation for a final grade
• Works directly with teacher assistants on coursework and homework assignments.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred

Certification and Licensing:

• DCF 45-hour Certification (Child Development Associate Credential or State-Approved CDA Equivalency)
• BLS Certification (valid from the American Heart Association)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
