Job Summary

The Student Access and Success is currently seeking a Temporary Youth Development Facilitator to join their team of professionals.

The TRIO Upward Bound & Pre-College office is seeking a passionate and energetic Saturday Temp Youth Development Facilitator to join our youth development team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on inspiring high school students, creating engaging learning experiences, and fostering personal growth. As a Youth Development Facilitator, you will work directly with students from several Miami-Dade high schools, helping them build life skills, explore career pathways, and stay motivated on their journey to success.

Students will be from schools such as Miami Carol City, Miami Norland, Miami Southridge, South Dade Senior, Miami Central, Miami Northwestern, William H. Turner Tech.

Duties include:

  • Facilitate interactive and engaging workshops for high school students on two Saturdays each month.
  • Design and implement creative, youth-centered activities that promote leadership, teamwork, and personal development.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students to encourage participation and growth.
  • Collaborate with program staff to align activities with educational and developmental goals.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Track student attendance and participation; provide feedback and insights to program coordinators.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and enthusiasm.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with youth, preferably in a school or community-based setting.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to plan and lead engaging group activities.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to making a difference.
  • Background in education, social work, psychology, or youth development is a plus.
  • Must be available to work two Saturdays per month.
  • Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as Panther Soft and Salesforce.
  • Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
