Position OverviewThe Part‑Time Lab Instructor supports the department in the delivery of instruction to present material to students who are pursuing classes.
What you will be doing- Researches, develops, and conducts workshops and orientations for students
- Assists in development of material
- Provides instruction in a lab setting or classroom setting
- Evaluates and grades student written work and software assignments
- Computes final lab student grades of end of term for all lab courses
- Maintains students’ records, academic progress and attendance rosters as assigned
- Provides training for other lab staff members on lab policy and procedures
- Participates in workshops and trainings
- Serves on Campus committees as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and one (1) year of teaching experience
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Possess well‑developed communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Ability to follow OSHA safety and proper disposal requirements in the laboratory
- Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
- Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
- Possess a friendly demeanor and provide intelligent solutions
- Knowledge of computer applications and educational technologies for academic support
- Possess an aptitude for teaching and interest in working with students
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well in a multi‑ethnic and multi‑cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
