Hill International is seeking a Commissioning Lead in Miami, Florida Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction commissioning or building systems management; experience in educational facilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of Florida Building Code, SREF, and ASHRAE commissioning guidelines.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in commissioning software and reporting tools.
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent is preferred.
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Commissioning Plan, schedule, and procedures for all assigned projects.
  • Review design documents to confirm commissioning requirements are incorporated.
  • Ensure compliance with State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), Florida Building Code, and Broward Schools standards.
  • Facilitate commissioning meetings during design and construction phases.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure commissioning milestones are met.
  • Serve as the District’s representative for commissioning-related issues and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee pre-functional and functional performance testing of systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
  • Verify installation and operation of equipment per specifications and contract documents.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning records, checklists, and reports.
  • Ensure delivery of final Commissioning Report and Systems Manual to the District.
  • Organize and oversee training sessions for District staff on building systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation and warranties are provided at project closeout.
