Data Lakes Engineer
Location:
Miami, FL, 33101 CLEARANCE: TS/SCI About the Role We are seeking a skilled Data Lakes Engineer to join our dynamic team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data lake solutions that support our data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to ensure efficient data ingestion, storage, and retrieval.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data lakes using cloud platforms and big data technologies.
* Implement data ingestion pipelines to collect structured and unstructured data from various sources.
* Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-efficiency.
* Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
* Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with organizational policies.
* Monitor and troubleshoot data lake infrastructure and pipelines.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data lake architecture and big data ecosystems. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience working with data lakes, big data platforms, or cloud data services.
* Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Glue, Athena), Azure (Data Lake Storage, Data Factory), or Google Cloud (Big Lake, Dataflow).
* Experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
* Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
* Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
* Familiarity with SQL and No
SQL databases.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
