The Senior Power Plant System Engineer's role is to ensure the precision, integrity, and reliable operation of onboard fuel measurement system across Carnival Corporation Fleet and, in-house information systems that support critical organizational functions and strategic decision making. The position will be responsible of a) Fuel Measurement Systems, Oversee the performance, calibration, and reliability of on-board fuel monitoring systems to ensure accurate consumption tracking and reporting, b) onboard marine system Integration & Optimization, maintain and optimize data accuracy, supporting automation, technical drawings, and documentation workflows, c) main engine performance, support and actively contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing main engine efficiency and operational performance, d) Technology Implementation, support the deployment of new technologies, including advanced fuel efficiency monitoring tools and remote diagnostics systems and e) other technical activities to support asset management team.
Essential Functions:Project management and Onboard
Activities:
a) create, modify analyze and collaborate actively on project preparation, new integration standardization, budgeting, and cost control. b) Support onboard the reliability of the instruments recommending actions for corrective and preventive maintenance c) Train shipboard crew about specific equipment to improve the level of alertness and maximize the usage of the investments in installed assets.Perform remote monitoring and engage Ship and Brands technical operations structure. Provide technical guidance and assistance to other IS Engineers and IS Administrators.
Document complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware. Analyze data performance and support with new KPI necessary to evaluate return of investment and additional savings.
Engaging with development and discussion new technology and green solution application; prototype, pilots and testing with the goal of enhancing performance.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent professional engineering license.
5+ years experience in systems engineering.
Mechanical and Electronic troubleshooting aptitude.
Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
Shipboard, land base power plant or OEM experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: 25-50% with shipboard travel likely.

Work may require employee to work inside and/or outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is classified as “in‑office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
