CPH is a multi‑disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. The firm is looking for a strong and talented Engineer IV for their team in Jacksonville, FL.

Description

The Engineer IV will direct the engineering design team on projects from initial concept through successful completion. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and vendors to achieve project goals and ensure all aspects of the project execution, from planning to final delivery, meet budget and quality standards.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and production of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Use team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase following CPH and client standards and templates.
  • Direct development of an action plan and estimate requirements for resources, labor, materials, and time needed to complete the project.
  • Develop technical specifications, evaluate shop drawings, and oversee construction administration duties as Engineer of Record.
  • Assess vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
  • Monitor progress of development projects and compare actual costs with estimates.
  • Work with design group to modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for management.
  • Review and study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Travel periodically for business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation.
  • Collaborate with project engineers from other plants to share supervision and support consolidating construction plans across all disciplines and coordinating regulatory submissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar platforms.
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team.
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self‑motivated.
Education and Experience
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in Florida (additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus).
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required;
    AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe Suite are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
