Job SummaryLangan is seeking a Project Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Hydrogeologist to join its collaborative team in Miami, FL
. The role will manage environmental investigation and remediation projects, deliver technically excellent services, prepare technical proposals and reports, conduct environmental research and analyses, supervise field investigations, and manage staff. You will develop project management and staff management skills, interact with clients, and work on small and large‑scale projects.
- Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects.
- Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.
- Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings.
- Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
- Effectively organize, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, and other documents.
- Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within existing projects, and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients.
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments; coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to environmental projects; participate in interviewing and hiring staff.
- Coordinate other work groups across office locations and disciplines on an as‑needed basis.
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree a plus. - LEED AP or PE certification.
- Six or more years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in environmental due diligence.
- Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software; demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses.
- Hazwoper training and annual 8‑hour Hazwoper re‑certification.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to multi‑task, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as projects require.
- Reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, valid driver’s license in good standing.
