Structural Revit Designer

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Structures team in Miami, Florida, (FL)!

• Primarily responsible for structural drafting assignments requiring advanced working knowledge of structural design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques in building structural, site structural, and heavy structural elements in concrete, masonry, steel, and wood.
• Develop technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD and REVIT software.
• Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations.
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks.
• Completes structural projects from initial concept, through construction documents.
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes.
• Maintains drawing database.
• May supervise and train CAD staff.
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant experience drafting structural systems.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 for document management.
• Proficient with working in both paper and model space and with x‑references, blocks, and sheet sets.
• Familiar with multidisciplinary projects and able to coordinate/communicate with other disciplines on items related to the structural design.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self‑starter.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
