We are seeking a full‑time Lead Consultant – Commissioning for our Orlando, FL office (other locations considered). The role supports technical staff, engineers, and project managers to validate construction, integrity, operability, and commissioning of building systems for public and private sector projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site during various construction phases, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for project energy auditing actions, validation, and commissioning.
  • Perform professional building and system commissioning work by conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and installation or operating permits.
  • Develop and oversee configuration, testing specifications, and readiness plans; preparing and updating checklists/punch lists and cost estimates that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Involved from project inception to completion for commissioning work deliverables throughout the various project work phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, integration, installation, and operation.
  • Develop and incorporate advanced technologies, monitoring, modeling techniques, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to account for the proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems according to specifications; implementing future‑ready solutions with building systems operating standards.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on various design, installation, and integration issues relating to commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, and automation.
  • Oversee and monitor cross‑functional teams to execute project work on mid‑level and/or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, technical calculations, permit applications, schematics, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
  • Coordinate, review and approve commissioning and operational plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross‑sections, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and other 2D/3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.
  • Maintain quality control standards, document logs of control and equipment functionality testing and verification, and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, calculations, statistical analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist with development and scoping of medium‑to‑large‑sized commissioning projects.
  • Provide guidance and training to entry‑level to mid‑level commissioning staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to navigate, improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design, and/or installation/operational issues or opportunities.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during site assessments, offering input with developing action plans for moderate‑to‑high‑level risk installation, equipment operations, and/or mitigation activities.
  • Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Interact with any applicable regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on public and privately‑funded building improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities.
