A Geotechnical Engineer position with ECS Group of Companies to support the preparation of geotechnical reports and manage construction materials testing projects. This is a full‑time, entry‑level opportunity with opportunities to advance through professional licensure.
Responsibilities- Prepare geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations developed with senior staff.
- Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects: review daily reports, resolve issues, and train field staff.
- Control project budgets for geotechnical and CMT projects and prepare invoices.
- Assist with or perform the following under supervision:
- Design boring and test pit layouts, evaluate site access.
- Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances.
- Research local geologic history.
- Supervise field work performed by drilling/test pit crews; address rig‑access issues.
- Conduct in‑situ testing and specialized field testing when required.
- Classify soils and assign laboratory testing.
- Help prepare proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects for training and development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- No prior experience required.
- A professional license is not required at hiring, however obtaining a license is necessary for career progression.
- Valid driver’s license if driving for or on behalf of an ECS subsidiary.
