Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder, Forensic / Structural Engineer
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder, Forensic / Structural Engineer, S.I., P.E., to expand our Forensic / Structures practice in Miami, Florida!
Responsibilities- This position will support the growth of the firm in our forensics and structures practices
- Develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers, and clients
- Perform and review structural design calculations, prepare project document submittal packages, and maintain Quality Control for the entire project
- Conduct site investigations and structural evaluations while documenting field observations and preparing technical reports
- Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members
- Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients
- Leadership responsibilities include :

- Building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Having open communication with your partners and team
- Growing and leading a structural practice
- Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
- The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil / Structural Engineering
- Registered Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- S.I. (Special Inspector) License, performing structural field inspections on Threshold Buildings.
- 15 years+ of experience in Forensics or Structures with at least 5 years' experience directly managing projects in Florida.
- Proven track record of successfully winning and delivering work in South Florida and the surrounding region.
- Have verifiable experience in performing structural field inspections on threshold buildings.
- Client contacts and relationships with local municipalities, area counties, and state agencies.
- Business development skills and the proven ability to win work.
- History of providing technical design and planning on a variety of structures
- Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup with some ability to produce drawings and details, when needed
- Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other structural related design software
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
- Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
- Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
- Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work
