Senior Hydrogeologist Job Description
This position is for a Senior Hydrogeologist based in South Florida to assist in directing water resources projects and groundwater systems throughout the region.
Responsibilities- Work on a variety of groundwater systems including brackish groundwater supply, Aquifer Storage Recovery (ASR), indirect potable reuse systems and Class 1 Injection Wells.
- Interface with civil, process mechanical, hydraulics, electrical and I&C disciplines and permitting and construction during design development and construction activities.
- Prepare and/or manage technical reports, letters, memoranda, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
- Ensure that firm’s policies and practices are followed on all work documents.
- Develop technical scopes of work for drilling, sampling and aquifer and geophysical testing work during projects.
- Contribute to firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Maintain client, industry, and regulatory agency contacts; participate in relevant professional organizations; attend and present technical publications at industry events.
- Collaborate and engage in strategic planning with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external client and related industry contact.
- Support project delivery team through interpretation of technical and regulatory issues, assisting with project scoping and budgeting, and achieving client satisfaction.
- Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff; mentor and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm; may supervise the work of junior staff on project work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or related discipline.
- Registration as a licensed Professional Geologist, as certified by ASBOG.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in groundwater engineering including municipal groundwater supply systems.
- Ability to work on a variety of groundwater systems including brackish groundwater supply, Aquifer Storage Recovery (ASR), indirect potable reuse systems and Class I injection well systems.
- Ability to participate in active drilling field work.
- Ability to work on technical team with other disciplines to develop master planning and detailed design of groundwater systems.
- Experience with regulatory approval/permitting for groundwater systems.
- Experience or exposure with selection of corrosion resistant materials, downhole control valves or other recharge control systems, booster pump stations.
