Job Description

Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs, and/or employee availability, as either variable hour, part‑time fixed, part‑time regular or full‑time hourly employees whose primary responsibility is ensuring our guests receive exceptional service. Floor Staff may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. Floor Staff employees must act as a representative of Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Handling emergency situations when called upon.
  • General cleaning duties.
  • Compliance with company dress code.
Box Office
  • Operate POS system, including proper handling of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, etc.
  • Upsell/suggestive sell Premium Viewing Experience (3D, RPX, IMAX).
  • Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
  • Ensure tickets sold in accordance with MPAA rating system and company policy.
  • Respond to phone calls and guest questions in a manner consistent with our guest service philosophy.
Concession
  • Operate POS system and handle cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, etc., and concession stock inventory.
  • Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
  • Operate, prepare and clean all concession equipment.
  • Upsell/suggestive sell.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws.
  • Abide by all federal and state laws regarding breaks and/or meal periods.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • If theatre sells alcohol, must be of legal age and have required certification.
  • Read and understand training materials covering sexual harassment and discrimination.
Usher
  • Tear tickets, collect and deposit appropriate stubs, and direct patrons to auditoriums.
  • Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable.
  • Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats.
  • Enforce MPAA rating system.
  • Conduct in‑theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for theft, maintain safe environment.
  • Report problems, discrepancies or unusual situations to management.
  • Perform in‑auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed.
  • Clean auditoriums at end of scheduled shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby area, hallways and other areas outside auditorium.
  • Monitor cleanliness and operation of vending equipment.
  • Assist with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management.

  • Education/

    Experience:

    Completion of cast certification program as a cast member and as box office cashier or progress towards completion required.
  • Alcohol training requirement: Complete any legally required state or local training and obtain required certificates if selling alcohol; complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training on Regal Online University.
  • Language Ability: Good public speaking, listens effectively, responds clearly.
  • Math Ability: Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, identify and correct errors.
  • Reasoning Ability: Identify problems, gather relevant data, determine possible causes, evaluate alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, act beyond what is necessary, perform under pressure.
  • Personal

    Skills:

    Excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management; set goals, budget time, prioritize to achieve objectives.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
