Coolabah Capital Investments is a leading global fixed‑income investor managing over eleven billion USD for institutional and retail clients. The team includes a 12‑person portfolio management team and 19 analysts across a total of 53 talented, full‑time staff located in our offices in Miami, London, Nassau, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

the role

The role is for a highly quantitative junior PM position within the portfolio management team, based in Miami. The successful individual will report to the US and European Head of Trading and also to the Chief Investment Officer based in Sydney. It is a permanent, full‑time position and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office five days a week.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Idea generation in relation to actionable alpha across the entire fixed‑income asset class.
  • Deep quantitative analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Trade implementation and execution across OTC cash, derivatives and listed domains.
  • Portfolio reporting and risk management.
  • Contributions to further supporting the entire investment team.
Skills and experience
  • Exceptional talent and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience trading IG credit instruments and/or interest rates markets.
  • Track‑record of superior performance and decision making under pressure.
  • Highly quantitative skills and modelling capabilities.
  • Coding experience is an advantage, ideally in Python or R.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High‑intensity work ethic and willingness to work outside normal hours when required.
  • Track‑record of high academic achievement, ideally in a quantitative discipline.
  • High levels of honesty, reliability and dependability.

It is expected that a market‑competitive contract will be agreed with the opportunity to participate in the bonus pool, including equity participation over time. The work will be demanding but also highly rewarding with the right candidate able to assume significant responsibilities and contribute directly to portfolio performance.
