Your Purpose

As the Accounting Manager
, you play a key role in the finance organization and will support the Executive team. In this role, you will monitor and evaluate the day to day accounting activities, prepare complex financial reports, monitor and record bonds and maintain effective internal controls procedures and systems. This position will lead and mentor members of the accounting team to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely work.

Your Role [Essential Functions]
  • Prepare monthly internal financial package to track the progress of all business initiatives. Continuously identify opportunities to improve profitability of the business
  • Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures and systems. Establish and enforce internal policies in accordance with Corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis as needed for the department, management and committees.
  • Reconcile accounting entries and calculate complex annual interest computations.
  • Responsible for recording journal entries, reconciling complex ledger accounts and identifying opportunities for improvement to processes and internal controls into the accounting processes.
  • Design & produce supporting schedules and analysis to explain financial results and variances which may include ad-hoc reporting from multiple data sources.
  • Ensure accounting records, monthly accounting close activities, and variance analysis are properly prepared, maintained and explained in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting package, for submittal to Corporate, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Assist in the budgetary process. Assist management team to develop departmental budgets consistent with organization goals. Prepare and distribute monthly variance report/analysis to the management team. Advise management with budget risk and opportunities.
  • People Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team, helping them uphold the highest standards of service.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting
  • Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong and extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • SOX and internal controls experience.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization.
  • Coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to Management requests
  • Proactive, self-starter, results-oriented and team player. Ability to establish credibility and influence at a senior leadership level, across all disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and to maintain strict
  • Ability to maintain poise and a sense of humor in stressful situations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, independence, and initiative to perform successfully in growing and constantly changing environment
