We’re looking for an experienced Regulation E Compliance Manager to join our U.S. compliance team and ensure our cross-border remittance operations meet all applicable U.S. consumer protection requirements. You’ll be responsible for overseeing compliance with Regulation E (12 CFR Part 1005) and ensuring the company’s policies, procedures, and customer experience meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This is a hands‑on role that combines regulatory expertise, operational oversight, and collaboration with product, legal, operations, and customer support teams.
You’ll also play a key role in driving automation and optimization across compliance and operational workflows, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in error resolution, transaction monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Regulation E and Remittance Transfer Rule requirements applicable to U.S. money transmitters and cross‑border transfers
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to federal and state consumer protection laws.
- Provide regulatory guidance on new product launches, system changes, marketing materials, and customer communications affecting remittance transfers or other electronic transfers.
- Oversee the error and dispute resolution and disclosure processes for electronic fund transfers and remittance transactions, ensuring timely and accurate handling in accordance with Regulation
E. - Monitor and assess regulatory changes and guidance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other relevant regulators; update internal policies accordingly.
- Conduct periodic compliance testing and risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of Reg E controls.
- Prepare and deliver training to operations and customer support teams on Reg E obligations, error resolution, and customer complaint handling.
- Act as the point of contact for Reg E‑related regulatory inquiries, audits, and examinations.
- Partner with Legal, Product, and Operations to identify and mitigate compliance risks in customer‑facing processes and system configurations.
- Drive automation and optimization initiatives within Reg E compliance operations, leveraging technology and data analytics to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of related processes.
- Evaluate and enhance operational processes to reduce manual intervention, streamline investigations, and strengthen compliance oversight through workflow automation.
- Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor Reg E performance indicators, error resolution timeliness, and compliance effectiveness.
- 5+ years of experience in consumer regulation compliance within financial services, preferably with a money transmitter, fintech, or payments company.
- Deep understanding of Regulation E and related CFPB regulations.
- Experience designing and managing error resolution and customer disclosure processes under Reg
E. - Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into practical business guidance.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Prior experience interacting with the CFPB, state regulators, or third‑party examiners.
- Working knowledge of international remittance operations, FX conversion, and payment processors.
- Experience with process automation and demonstrated ability to use data and technology to optimize compliance operations and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Strong project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional automation or systems enhancement projects.
- Certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, or CCEP are a plus.
