We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the firm’s accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within a fast-paced investment advisory environment. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership and serve as a trusted financial partner to the firm.

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure timely and accurate close processes, reconciliations, and variance analyses

• Support regulatory reporting requirements applicable to investment advisory firms
• Coordinate with compliance and external auditors during annual audits and examinations
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

• Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
• Monitor firm expenses, profitability, and cash flow
• Provide financial insights and reporting to senior management

• Act as primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
• Prepare audit schedules and support year-end audit processes
• Coordinate corporate tax filings and related schedules

• Evaluate and improve accounting processes, controls, and systems
• Assist with accounting system upgrades or implementations
• Ensure scalability of accounting operations as the firm grows
• Manage and mentor accounting staff (if applicable)
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and executive leadership
• Support strategic initiatives and ad-hoc financial projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• CPA designation strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within:
  • Investment advisory firms
  • Asset management
  • Private equity / hedge funds
  • Financial services organizations
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience working with auditors and regulatory environments
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software and reporting tools
