Tax Director​/Senior Tax Director

A leading integrated, fee-only wealth management firm with offices in San Francisco and New York City is seeking a Director/Senior Director of Tax. This role will focus on tax planning and compliance for ultra-high-net-worth clients and families.

• Serve as the senior tax advisor to UHNW clients and families, partnering closely with wealth advisors and estate planning teams
• Lead proactive income, gift, estate, and trust tax planning, including multi-year projections and transaction planning
• Provide final review of complex individual (1040), fiduciary (1041), gift (709), partnership (1065), and private foundation (990-PF) returns
• Oversee IRS and state notices, audits, and controversy matters
• Research complex technical issues and communicate recommendations to clients and advisors
• Lead, mentor, and develop managers and staff; manage workflow, quality, and client service across the team
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the tax practice

• 12+ years of tax experience in public accounting, family office, or wealth management, with a significant focus on HNW/UHNW clients
• Deep expertise in individual, trust, estate, and gift tax planning and compliance
• Active CPA, EA, or JD/bar license required; MST or LLM a plus
• Proven experience leading and developing teams and managing senior client relationships
• Strong technical research and written/verbal communication skills

Salary: $300,000 - $500,000 + Bonus
