About the feature:

The Director of Billing and Collections will lead and oversee all billing and revenue collection operations within our Information and Media Services company, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies. This role is critical to optimizing cash flow and minimizing outstanding accounts receivable by developing and implementing effective billing strategies and collection processes. The Director will work closely with finance, sales, and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve customer satisfaction.

They will also analyze billing data and trends to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and financial forecasting. Ultimately, this position ensures financial integrity and operational excellence in managing the company’s revenue cycle.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable management.
• Proven experience in leadership managing teams in a billing or financial operations environment.
• Solid knowledge of billing systems, financial software, and accounts receivable processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred degrees:

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience in the Information Services and Media industry or in a similar fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Net Suite.
• Certification in credit and collections management (for example, Certified Credit Executive).
• Proven success in implementing process improvements and automation in billing and collections.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the billing and collections teams to ensure the timely and accurate issuance of invoices and receipt of payments.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve billing accuracy and collection efficiency.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and take proactive measures to reduce overdue balances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Prepare regular reports on billing and collection performance metrics for senior management review.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize billing and collection workflows using technology and best practices.
• Train, advise, and evaluate team members to build a high-performance billing and collections department.
