Capital Mrkts Sales & Service Global Critical Minerals and Metals supply chains are emerging as a core choke point for the future of the global economy, in particular as it relates to the future of energy and electrification, the physical deployment of AI data centers, robotics, and space. These projects face complex geopolitical dynamics, stringent customer qualification requirements, and evolving project and technological timelines that make crowding together the right financing plans an entirely bespoke service.

For decades, BMO Capital Markets has been home to the largest Metals and Mining Investment Banking group by both transaction count and volume. That same group is now expanding into Miami to create a dedicated center of excellence related to Critical Minerals and Metals. This group will lead the bank’s engagement with critical minerals and metals project owners, governments, investors and seek to activate the full breadth of BMO Financial Group in delivering solutions for clients.

It will do so in close coordination with the Bank’s existing offices in New York, Toronto, London, Vancouver, Perth and Melbourne.

Interested applicants should have a strong interest in the intersection of the physical and digital economies. Backgrounds in critical minerals or metals supply chains, geology, mining engineering, finance and public policy are all welcome. The Group is looking for applicants who are interested to be a part of building a new office and platform that can form the basis for their own long-term careers in finance.

The business has a strong global pipeline, with a particular focus on M&A advisory and bespoke equity and debt capital raising.

Qualified applicants will have an opportunity to meet with members of the global team. The role is based in Miami and there is an expectation of regular domestic and international travel and daily engagement with the firm’s global offices. Training and orientation will be provided for 4-8 weeks in Toronto. Positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit are pre-requisite. Provides a combination of deep industry sector expertise, innovative thinking in a team-based approach and world class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach. Collaborates to generate creative, client-focused solutions to prospective and current clients.

Participates in deal teams to develop, present, and win mandates for new opportunities.

Creates pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients.

Monitors client, client industry, and regulatory agencies for potential changes that may affect client portfolio and business needs.

Initiates contact with partners for new client sales.

Directly manages a diverse portfolio of private and middle market companies with progression toward increasing client responsibility.

Reviews and continually monitors performance of existing accounts and client relationships.

Conducts due diligence (e.g. client visits, business model analysis, and comprehensively reviewing industry trends and related regulations).Identifies opportunities to diversify client portfolios.

Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
